How do I apply?
The application and the instructions can be obtained at the www.pleasantvilleschools.com: click Pleasantville High School and look under the menu item, “Counseling", “Naviance” & then "Scholarships" or can be found below. To be considered by the Selection Committee, you must:

Strictly follow and adhere to all of the instructions on the application;

Completed applications and corresponding essays are submitted to the Pleasantville High School Guidance Office

Participate in a personal interview with the Community Selection Committee
When can I apply for a scholarship?
The committee is now accepting scholarship applications from the High School Class of 2024 through Monday, April 15th at 3:00pm at the Pleasantville High School Guidance Office. Completed applications will be reviewed in May and award recipients will be notified in June.
Who is eligible to apply?
You are eligible to apply if you:

Are graduating from high school in 2024;
-
Either attend Pleasantville High School or reside within the Pleasantville Union Free School District;
and,
-
Will be attending college or professional training school in the fall of 2024.
How does the selection process work?
The Community Selection Committee considers the following factors when evaluating applications: academic performance, community service, extra-curricular activities and optionally financial need. The required information is obtained from the application, applicant's essay and personal interview.
The members of the Selection Committee, will have access to the information provided by applicant’s. All information (including financial need statements) will be kept strictly confidential.
Should you choose to apply for an award, please note the following:

Instructions must be followed exactly;

Deadlines must be adhered to in order for your application to be considered;

If any part of the application is omitted, or if a deadline is not met, the applicant will not be eligible for a

scholarship;

Submitting an application does not guarantee an award of a scholarship; and

There are no exceptions.
